Ambrose signs new deal

Friday, July 30, 2010, 08:00

DARREN Ambrose has ended the speculation surrounding his future by signing a three year deal to stay at Crystal Palace.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been constantly linked with a move away from Selhurst Park after former boss Neil Warnock tabled a £750,000 bid to take him to Queens Park Rangers earlier this summer.

But Ambrose has now committed himself to the Eagles – a move which will delight all supporters of the club.

"It's been a tough few months with all the speculation but I'm delighted to be sitting here and signing the new deal," said Ambrose.

"I have always wanted to stay at the football club and am glad it is all resolved."

Manager George Burley added: "We are trying to build a club and it's important to keep your best players.

"To have Paddy McCarthy and now Darren commit themselves is great news."
