CRYSTAL Palace were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw at Bromley last night as a determined rearguard action from the hosts kept a rampant Eagles at bay.

George Burley used 19 different players during the evening and was pleased with the exercise, despite the lack of goals.

"Everyone got a bit more football under their belts and that's the important thing at this stage of the season," said the Eagles boss.

"The turn out by the fans was fantastic. The atmosphere around the club is really positive at the moment. We know there is plenty of work to be done but hopefully we can have a successful season."

As would be expected as against opposition from the Blue Square Conference South Palace were on top throughout.

They had over 20 shots on goal but just couldn't find the breakthrough. Bromley's keeper Wes Foderingham was rightly named man of the match and Burley revealed that the youngster has spent the past few weeks training with the Eagles.

"He's a good young keeper who has been working with us over the summer," he said. "We're impressed and are thinking of taking him on as our number three, to back up Julian Speroni and Lewis Price."
